Zoom for Church?

There are many livestream platforms that allow video-conferences, meetings, and webinars. But what if there was a platform that was specifically designed for churches; a platform that serves and ministers to church communities? Does zoom for churches exist? Is there an ideal platform for churches to host online services?

Is there such thing as "Zoom for church"?

And should we even use Zoom for church?

Some may wonder if it's even possible to make personal connections online. Does church even work online?

Workplaces, conferences, and businesses use Zoom, Hopin, and GoogleMeet to livestream and conduct meetings while still maintaining a sense of community. Since Church is an important part of people’s lives, there needs to be a space that knows the importance of community and value church has in people’s lives.

Enter, Altar Live.

If you ever need a Room for Sunday or weekday events for classes, youth groups, prayer meetings, and impromptu gatherings, Altar has got you covered!

In the Lobby of an Altar Live event, you can create virtual Rooms. During the event creation process, you can add multiple Rooms to your Event. Rooms function as breakout video conference sessions inside the Lobby and they have capacity for up to 50 people at a time.

Each Room can be named and given a description so you will be able to direct people to which room they should go to before or after the service. Rooms can be accessed by all the attendees when the Event is in Lobby state.

Attendees can toggle between Tables and Rooms to be able to move around. It gives attendees the freedom to meet and mingle with other people in the event. The host does not need to worry about assigning people to a room beforehand!

Use Altar Live for Announcements

If you ever need to make an announcement during a church live stream, but don't want to disrupt the service, they can use the announcement feature!  During events, meetings, and services, you can send out three different kinds of announcements: panel, modal, and notification type.

Announcements are great for sending reminders and messages to the church community:

  • Giving
  • Registration for small groups
  • Prayer requests
  • Upcoming events
