As a host and greeter, your roles are key in helping members and visitors alike truly engage with your organization or church.
And speaking of engagement, let's talk chat moderation. It's unfortunate, but sometimes you're going to HAVE to mute, or even BOOT, unruly, distracting, and disruptive guests.
-Hosts & Greeters have the ability to delete any messages that appear in the general chat.
-Users can delete their own messages
Step 1. Hover over the message you want to delete
Step 2. Select the trashcan icon
Step 3. A pop-up menu will appear and select “Delete” to successfully delete the message
The hospitality team is the heartbeat of every Altar Live event so we want to equip them with the tools they need to ensure a smooth and secure event. Now, Hosts, Greeters, and Admins have the ability to ban a user from using chat. The hospitality team has two options in doing this:
Step 1. Click the three dots icon to see the dropdown menu
Step 2. Select Timeout from Chat

Step 2. select Ban from Chat. This will prevent the user from chatting in General Channel or Direct Message of any event or meeting in this community until they are unbanned

Step 2. Select Unban from Chat
Host and Greeters have the ability to completely dismiss an attendee should they not heed warnings and chat deleting.
Step 1. Go to the Members tab on the right side of the screen
Step 2. Click the three dots drop-down menu
Step 3. Select “Remove from Event”
Step 4. A pop-up menu will appear and select “Yes” to successfully remove the attendee
When removed, the attendee is removed from the event and will not be able to re-enter the event or any future event until they are re-instated by the admin.
