Hosts play a crucial role in any event or meeting. Here's a checklist you can share with your team to help your team as they host events.
Host Checklist for Going Live
Before the Event:
- Take a seat in a row
- Greet attendees as they arrive
- Invite attendees to sit in the rows
- Send out a poll to get interaction going
- Monitor general chat
- Respond to direct messages
During the Event:
- Greet attendees
- Post tips for new attendees in the general chat
- Invite attendees to sit
- Leave a comment or question in the general chat (to keep the conversation going)
- Use Host Notes to help people follow along
- Take a seat in a new row (to engage with more people)
- Monitor general chat
- Respond to direct messages
- Announce when (and if) the event will move to a lobby
In the Lobby:
- Take a seat at a table
- Explain how your lobby works in the general chat
- Invite attendees to sit
- Announce what rooms are available
- Monitor general chat
- Respond to direct messages
- Sit in a new seat with someone new/you’ve never met
After the Event:
- Pass on any observations to the rest of the team
- Note at least one positive interaction you saw or were a part of
