Altar Live maximizes accessibility but helps your online community stay secure. Anyone can join a public event by clicking on the event URL. They can watch and follow along with the event.

An online participant is only prompted to sign up when they choose to interact with other participants online. Online participants must sign up or log in to be able to direct chat with other online participants, and join a watch party, or a table. Because Altar Live has interactive peer-to-peer features, it requires at least one form of authentication in the form of signing up with email, Facebook, or Google.

Once you've created an account, you will automatically be signed in whenever you join a future event. You can sign in to your Altar Live account on the web at any time, at app.altarlive.com.

Sign up during a live event

You can sign up to create an account in Altar Live with three options:

  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Email address

There are several places where an online participant is prompted to sign up:

  • Click log in
  • Direct chat
  • Watch with others
  • Join a table

To sign up during a live event, follow these steps:

Step 1: Join the event by clicking on the event URL.

Step 2: Click on the Login button in the upper right corner, or respond to any of the other prompts to Sign Up.

Sign Up with Facebook

Step 1: Click on the Continue with Facebook button.

Step 2: Finish the login process on a new tab. Once done, you will be redirected back to the event.

Step 3: Congratulations! Now you are logged in. Feel free to interact with other people at the event.

Sign up with Google

Step 1: Click on the Continue with Google button.

Step 2: Choose a Google account to create an account. Once done, you will be redirected back to the event.

Step 3: Congrats! You have successfully signed up and created an account. You'll be able to see your name in the upper right corner and be able to interact with the other online participants with chat, watch parties, and lobby

Sign Up with your email address

Step 1: Click the Sign Up button in the login tab.


Step 2: Enter your email address. Click Proceed when you're done.


Step 3: Check your email and click Confirm in the automated email you receive from Altar Live.


Step 4: When you click confirm, a new tab will open to the Events & Meeting page of the community. You can close out that tab, go back to the live event tab and click confirm to finish the signup process.

Step 5: Congrats! You have successfully signed up and created an account. You'll be able to see your name in the upper right corner and be able to interact with the other online participants with chat, watch parties, and lobby
