The first step to increasing engagement and attendance of online events is making it really easy and simple to join - no downloads, plugins or log in required. That's why we've prioritized a seamless experience on mobile devices.

Mobile browser experience

Altar events open first in your mobile browser. When you click a link on Altar Live on your mobile phone, your browser will open instead of asking you to download the app first. You will be able to watch and follow along the live stream without ever having to download the app or log in. To be able to chat or take a seat with someone, users can easily click on the download app button at the bottom of their browser.

Before the event begins, a user on their mobile phone will first see one of the following screens:

Mobile app experience

Downloading the app keeps you on the same event. To use video conference and chat, simply use the button Open the Altar App to open the app from the app store. Once downloaded, you will join the same event and be able to chat and take a seat.

If you download the app before joining on a browser, you can search for your community, then click on the event you would like to join.

To invite other users to the event, press the "More" tab on the bottom right of the screen, then the "Share" button.
